November 22, 2016 – The Town of Marlborough with Behan Planning and Design will be conducting a series of community forums for the town’s Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP) and Comprehensive Plan update. The first of the series will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Marlboro Elementary School cafeteria, 1380 Route 9W, Marlboro, NY.
This community forum will focus on economic development, hamlet revitalization and waterfront access. The public is invited to attend and share their comments, ideas and feedback related to the forum topic. Input from the forum will help develop new projects, policies and other recommendations that will guide the development of Marlborough’s waterfront area for the future.
Town Supervisor Al Lanzetta said, “The town’s committee has been working with the Behan team on this project for the past several months. This is a good chance for town residents to learn about our efforts to update our comprehensive plan and to develop a local waterfront revitalization program. With community help, these efforts will make the town competitive for grants to improve the town. With public input, we will guide projects to make our town economy more diverse and add to the quality of life in the community. This work is being paid for primarily by grants and in-kind and volunteer services.”
The LWRP is being prepared in cooperation with the New York State Department of State with funds provided under Title 11 of the New York State Environmental Protection Fund.
